Inverting (Negative) Outputs

With a relatively wide input voltage and output voltage range, the LTM8050 is well suited for Inverting applications when a negative output voltage is desired. Watch the LTM8050 deliver a -12V output at 1.5A from a 24V Input with 83% efficiency and just a 54°C temperature rise over ambient.

Highly suggested additional reading is design note DN1021 when using µModule regulators in inverting output applications.

Current Sharing and Load Transient Performance

The LTM8050 step-down µModule regulator accepts an input supply voltage up to 58V delivering a 2A output at an output voltage adjustable up to 24V.   The LTM8050 also supports output current sharing. In this Techclip video, two LTM8050s operate with excellent current matching within 1% at 4A even under a demanding load transient.
