Instrumentation Amplifier with Shield Driver
This is a variation on the standard 3-stage implementation of an Instrumentation Amplifier function. The gain resistor structure between the input op amps provides a mid-point potential that represents the average of the incoming signals. The average level is buffered and back-drives the shields of the signals so there are minimal loading effects in the cabling that might otherwise cause errors in the high-impedance signals.
