Silicon Oscillator

Silicon-based oscillators are solid state clocks that operate from 1kHz to 170MHz.   Each Linear Technology silicon oscillator is frequency programmable via pin-strapping, resistor connection, or serial interface (SPI or I2C).

Silicon Oscillators are well suited for general-purpose usage, such as PGAs, ASICS, Microprocessors, UARTS, etc.  Silicon oscillators are also ideal switching regulator clocks where they  provide synchronization and EMI reduction (via Spread Spectrum).
