RF Log Detectors

Linear Technology's family of RF log power detectors provides a DC output voltage that is log-linearly proportional to its average input power level. These devices typically have higher dynamic range, to as high as 80dB. Within their measurement range, these detectors exhibit best-in-class accuracy and linearity over a rated operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, and in certain products to +105°C and +125°C. Moreover, the parts exhibit outstanding sensitivity. The devices operate with a single-ended RF input and require no external RF transformer, thus simplifying design while reducing costs. Log detectors are suitable for use with constant modulated envelope signals in wireless and optical communications equipment.
