Digital Power System Management (PSM)
Take control of your power supplies. Simplify and accelerate power system characterization, optimization and data mining during prototyping, deployment and field operation with Linear Technology’s digital Power System Management (PSM) products.
A PSM product is configured and monitored through a PMBus/SMBus/I²C digital interface. Our engineering-level development environment, LTpowerPlay, provides control and monitoring of power supply voltage, current, power and energy use, sequencing, margining and “black box” fault log data. This industry leading development software with graphical user interface (GUI) that has been proven to support up to 256 voltage rails.
High current outputs, up to and exceeding 200 amps, for FPGAs, ASICs and processors can easily be designed with our multiphase extender LTC3870/-1 and LTC3874 devices. These slave controllers provide a small and cost effective solution for supplying very large currents by being cascaded with our master controllers. Up to 12 phases can be paralleled and clocked out-of-phase with the LTC3870/-1 operating up to a 60V input and the LTC3874 working with our line of sub-milliohm DCR sensing current mode master controllers.
