Description

The LTC2222 and LTC2223 are 105Msps/80Msps, sampling 12-bit A/D converters designed for digitizing high frequency, wide dynamic range signals. The LTC2222/LTC2223 are perfect for demanding communications applications with AC performance that includes 68dB SNR and 80dB spurious free dynamic range for signals up to 170MHz. Ultralow jitter of 0.15psRMS allows undersampling of IF frequencies with excellent noise performance.

DC specs include ±0.3LSB INL (typ), ±0.2LSB DNL (typ) and no missing codes over temperature. The transition noise is a low 0.5LSBRMS.

A separate output power supply allows the outputs to drive 0.5V to 3.6V logic.

The ENC+ and ENC– inputs may be driven differentially or single ended with a sine wave, PECL, LVDS, TTL, or CMOS inputs. An optional clock duty cycle stabilizer allows high performance at full speed for a wide range of clock duty cycles.

Simulate

Linear Technology offers free software and demo boards that greatly simplify the task of testing and evaluating our data converters. To use these powerful tools with the LTC2222:

  1. Download the PScope (QuickEval II) System software. The PScope System is a USB-based product demonstration and data acquisition system for use with Linear Technologys high performance analog to digital converters. The software also includes web links to the appropriate device data sheets and provides an automatic update feature to keep the software current with the latest set of device drivers.

  2. Request the DC718 QuickDAATS USB Controller either online or from your local sales representative. The DC718 QuickDAATs USB Controller interfaces with the USB port of your computer and connects to the LTC2222 daughter cards.

  3. Request the DC751A-A or DC751A-E daughter card evaluation kit from your local sales representative. The DC751A-A and DC751A-E allow easy evaluation of the LTC2222 from your PC.
