Typical Application

Description

The LTC2203/LTC2202 are 25Msps/10Msps, sampling 16-bit A/D converters designed for digitizing high frequency, wide dynamic range signals with input frequencies up to 380MHz. The input range of the ADC can be optimized with the PGA front end.

The LTC2203/LTC2202 are perfect for demanding applications, with AC performance that includes 81.6dB SNR and 100dB spurious free dynamic range (SFDR). Maximum DC specs include ±4LSB INL, ±1LSB DNL (no missing codes).

A separate output power supply allows the CMOS output swing to range from 0.5V to 3.6V.

A single-ended CLK input controls converter operation. An optional clock duty cycle stabilizer allows high performance at full speed with a wide range of clock duty cycles.

Linear Technology offers free software and demo boards that greatly simplify the task of testing and evaluating our data converters. To use these powerful tools with the LTC2202:

1. Download the PScope (QuickEval II) System software. The PScope System is a USB-based product demonstration and data acquisition system for use with Linear Technologys high performance analog to digital converters. The software also includes web links to the appropriate device data sheets and provides an automatic update feature to keep the software current with the latest set of device drivers.
   
   
2. Request the DC718 QuickDAATS USB Controller either online or from your local sales representative. The DC718 QuickDAATs USB Controller interfaces with the USB port of your computer and connects to the LTC2202 daughter card.
   
   
3. Request the DC919A-F either online or from your local sales representative. The DC919A-F allows easy evaluation of the LTC2202 from your PC.
