Grass Valley Design Center
Linear Technology’s Grass Valley design center opened in 2003 as the eighth of Linear’s twelve remote design centers. In its state-of-the-art, 6,200 square foot facility, Grass Valley’s world-class, analog, IC designers continue Linear Technology’s tradition of developing best-in-class analog ICs. Linear offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package including 401k, medical, dental, profit sharing and stock options in an area with a lower cost of living and a quality-of-life (1, 2) unrivaled in other high-tech opportunities.
Set amid pine trees at a 2,500 foot elevation, Grass Valley and surrounding areas have attracted over 50 high-tech companies. Nevada County, where Grass Valley is situated, is sometimes referred to as the "Silicon Valley of the Sierras."
Close to outdoor activities such as hiking, water and snow skiing, and mountain biking, Grass Valley features casual country lifestyle, small town friendliness, community celebrations and activities, award-winning wineries and micro-breweries, and events for everyone to enjoy. Time Magazine, in its December 8, 1998 edition, named Grass Valley as one of California’s “Hot Small Towns” and neighboring Nevada City was featured in The Great Towns of America. Grass Valley lacks the congestion, clutter and crime of urban areas and housing costs are affordable (1/3 the prices found in San Jose, CA). Even with all of its rural appeal, the community is not isolated. The California State Capitol, Sacramento, is only an hour’s drive away.
